ITCN Asia 2023, held at the Karachi Expo Center, marked a major step forward to unlocking the mobile phone manufacturing potential of Pakistan.
The main goal of the ITCN Asia 2023 conference, held from August 30 to September 2, was to strengthen Pakistan’s telecom industry and promote “Made in Pakistan” products globally.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Information Technology and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority to provide a platform for telecom industry players to showcase innovations and build partnerships. It also showed the government’s commitment to helping tech companies thrive.
Mobile Phone Pavilion
The event featured the very first Mobile Phone Pavilion, showcasing Pakistan’s tech skills. A remarkable highlight of the event was the involvement of 13 license holders, making their debut appearance, which signaled a new era of cooperation and innovation within Pakistan’s telecom industry.
As many as 25 local and international brands such as Samsung Mobile, Nokia, Infinix, Vivo, Oppo, Sparx, Itel, Tecno, Xiaomi and more actively participated, showing their commitment to the Pakistani tech scene.

Dr. Umar Saif, the Minister of IT & Telecom, played a key role in driving this initiative. He, along with his team members DG Telecom Faysal Ratyal and PTAʼs Dr Khawar Siddique, had productive discussions with industry leaders at the Mobile Phone Pavilion. Their dedication to solving industry challenges was evident.
During the event, Dr. Saif led a meeting with mobile phone manufacturers, reiterating the government’s support for industry growth. They pledged to work closely with manufacturers to overcome challenges and create a conducive environment for sustainable growth.
The Pakistan Mobile Phone Manufacturers Association thanked all stakeholders who contributed to the success of ITCN Asia 2023. With 33 dedicated members, the association is committed to boosting local mobile manufacturing, driving economic growth, and enhancing Pakistanʼs tech capabilities.

ITCN Asia – Information Technology and Telecom Show – offered an opportunity for the entire tech ecosystem of Pakistan along with the leaders from the public and private sectors to gather under one roof.
The interactive and action-packed event provided a comprehensive platform to showcase solutions for all important verticals of the economy such as government, cloud, data center, cybersecurity, education, banking and finance, health and pharma, e-commerce, artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics with a focus on networking, knowledge sharing and lead generation and a series of conferences.
