Armed forces of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia concluded a two-week counterterrorism exercise in the northwestern Cherat hill station of Pakistan.
The joint exercise called “Al Battar-I” began on August 22. The military drills focused on areas of mutual interest for future military collaborations.
Special forces contingents from Pakistan and Saudi Arabia participated in the exercise, according to Pakistani military’s media wing ISPR.
The exercise aimed at further strengthening historic military relations between the two countries, including the development of a “joint employment concept” to help in the fight against terrorism.
“Combat aviation along with the special forces of both countries displayed their professional excellence,” the ISPR said.
During the closing ceremony on September 4, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf Saeed Al Malkiy, along with senior military leadership witnessed the final day of activities.
