Pakistan launches online portal for coronavirus awareness

Online portal launched to raise awareness and help dispel misinformation about the coronavirus

Ministry of National Health Services Regulations and Coordination has launched an online platform for awareness on coronavirus in coordination with National Information Technology Board.

With the confirmation of positive cases of coronavirus in Pakistan, people are scared and there’s a lot of misinformation being shared online leading to panic and chaos. This was the reason the government launched the portal to address public concerns and help dispel misinformation about the coronavirus.

“The NITB team has activated this portal for the general public on behalf of the Ministry of Health within the shortest possible timeframe. We are hoping that this tool will serve as an effective source of information for all,” the CEO of NITB Shabahat Ali Shah stated at the launching.

The PM’s Special Assistant on Health Dr. Zafar Mirza said the portal has been launched to answer the ongoing frequently asked questions. He asked the public to share the information among their friends, family and followers.

The web portal that contains details about the symptoms of COVID-19 can be accessed here.
