Pakistan, Turkiye and Saudi Arabia are considering a potential collaboration in defense technologies in a meeting attended by senior military officials from the three nations in Rawalpindi city of Pakistan.
The second Trilateral Defense Collaboration platform meeting was held on Tuesday (January 9) at the GHQ, the headquarters of Pakistan’s army, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
The meeting followed the inaugural session of the committee in Riyadh last August, with the forum established to enhance defense cooperation among the three countries. The meeting served as a platform to explore collaboration in defense equipment technologies, including research and development.
According to a statement issued by the ISPR, the trio reaffirmed the salience of “combining the intellectual, technical, financial as well as human resources of the three friendly nations towards the achievement of shared objectives and attainment of self-sufficiency in the defence domain”.
Acknowledging the historical ties between the three countries, they reiterated their strategic intent to expand the scope of trilateral cooperation and underscored the need to accelerate collaborative efforts.
The next meeting on Trilateral Defence Industrial Collaboration is scheduled to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia during the World Defence Show in February.
Saudi-Pak bilateral meeting
