Pakistani firms secure multiple deals at LEAP 24 tech exhibition in Riyadh

Pakistani tech companies signed numerous deals with top firms of Saudi Arabia and other countries at the tech expo, LEAP 2024, in Riyadh, the head of Pakistani Software Producers’ Association said on March 5.

With over 70 firms and 800 delegates showing off their products, Pakistani companies had the “largest-ever presence” of the South Asian country anywhere in this sector, according to chairman of Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) Muhammad Zohaib Khan.

“Last year, LEAP 2023 generated a whopping $9 billion in IT business and Pakistani companies also generated leads worth upwards of $100 million on the sidelines during the B2B [business-to-business] matchmaking,” said Muhammad Zohaib Khan.

Major companies and Gulf region tech organizations visited the Pakistani pavilion which was inaugrated by Pakistan’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Farooq on March 4.

The expo took place from March 4 to March 7, with over 1,800 exhibitors, 1,000 tech experts, and 600 startups.

Major MoUs signed by Pakistani firms

  • P@SHA signed its largest MoU with the IT association of Bahrain to enhance business-to-business engagement.
  • Abacus Consulting from Pakistan signed an MoU with Saudi digital solution provider, Elm, for mutual cooperation.
  • Inbox Technologies partnered with Saudi Arabia’s GISSAN.
  • P@SHA held a productive meeting with the official delegation of the Government of Oman.

Saudi investor group joins hands with Pakistan’s SuperNova

SuperNova Solutions, a significant Pakistani enterprise resource planning and business solutions provider, announced a collaboration with a prominent Saudi investor group in the IT and technology sector on March 4.

“It is a pivotal investment into Pakistan’s IT industry and SuperNova Solutions,” the company said in a press release, quoting the envoy.

“The investment is one of its kind and a substantive leap forward in Pakistan’s investment landscape,” Rashid Hakeem, SuperNova’s Pakistan chief executive, said. “This investment makes us go global; establish a strategic presence in the regional IT market and encourage other investors to embark on more partnerships, collaborations and JVs.”

11th Pakistan Tech summit in Riyadh by Ejad labs

Ejad Labs successfully concluded the 11th Global Pakistan Tech Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, achieving significant success and advancing its goal of promoting Pakistan internationally.

The event, held at Huna Takhassusi, brought together esteemed tech leaders, industry experts, and visionaries, fostering insightful discussions and collaborations.

Prince Fahad bin Mansour bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, President of the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance, emphasized the opportunities in KSA for Pakistani companies and commended the historic presence of Pakistani leaders in Riyadh for LEAP 2024.

During his visit to Pakistan for Future Fest 2022, Prince Fahad launched the flagship Saudi Arabia-Pakistan Tech House, a $100 million initiative expected to generate over 1,000 jobs in the next five years.

Arzish Azam, CEO of Ejad Labs and Founder of Future Fest, highlighted Prince Fahad’s support for Pakistani talent and emphasized Saudi Arabia’s role as a gateway to the world for Pakistani talent. He mentioned the significant investment of over $200 million in Pakistan resulting from the participation of 70+ Saudi delegates in Future Fest 2022 in Lahore.
