Pakistan’s beloved journalist, columnist, poet and writer Muneer Ahmed Qureshi, commonly known as Munnu Bhai, passed away today morning.

The senior journalist Muneer Ahmed Qureshi was suffering from kidney and cardiac problems for quite some time and was also going through routine dialysis treatment.

The family sources of Munnu Bhai has confirmed the news to media channels, he died at the age of 84 years in Lahore.

The funeral prayer for his eternal peace will be offered in Riwaz Garden, Lahore after Asr prayer today, he will be laid to rest in Miani Sahib cemetery.

Munnu Bhai was born in Wazirabad on February 6, 1933. He was affiliated with journalism for more than 25 years. He also wrote dramas for Pakistan Television, his most famous being ‘Sohna Chandni’ which will always be remembered by his fans.

He was awarded Pride of Performance Award by the President of Pakistan in 2007 for his services to the nation.

Several top politicians including President Mamnon Hussain, other columnists, showbiz industry and people from all walks of life, paying rich tributes to him, and have expressed their sorrow and condolence to the demise news veteran writer Munnu Bhai.
