Pakistan’s exports cross $2 billion mark for 5th consecutive month

Pakistan’s exports grew for the fifth consecutive month in February 2021

Pakistan’s exports rose for the fifth consecutive month in February 2021 to $2 billion.

The exports in the first 8 months of the fiscal year 2021 (from July to February 2021) increased by 4.2 percent at $16,300 million as compared to $15,643 million during July to February 2020, Commerce and Investment Adviser Razak Dawood said.

However, exports in February 2021 (28 days) stood at $2.04 billion as compared to $2.14 billion for February 2020 (29 days), witnessing a decline of 4.5 percent when compared with last year same month.

PM’s aide on commerce congratulated Pakistani exporters for their hard work in earning foreign exchange for the country and urge them to market their exports even more aggressively.

On February 24, Pakistan formally joined the Madrid System to protect Pakistani trademarks in 124 member countries.  

The protocol will enter into force on May 24, 2021, after which local brand owners in Pakistan can begin using the Madrid System to protect their trademarks in the 123 territories of the system’s other 107 members by filing a single international application and paying fees.
