Saudi Aramco launches first fuel station in Pakistan, partnering with GO for premium services

Saudi Arabia’s oil giant, Aramco, unveiled its first branded retail fuel station in Pakistan on Tuesday, launching a new era for the country’s fuel and convenience retail landscape.

Located in Lahore, the station is part of Aramco’s strategic partnership with Gas & Oil Pakistan Ltd. (GO), which includes Aramco’s acquisition of a 40% stake in the Pakistani fuel company earlier this year. GO is a prominent player in Pakistan’s energy sector with a network of over 1,200 outlets nationwide.

Aramco’s entry into Pakistan, the world’s fifth-most populous country with a rapidly growing economy, is aimed at bringing premium quality fuel, lubricants, and professional automotive services to the local market. The Aramco-branded stations will feature “ProForce” premium fuel, Valvoline lubricants, Express Care automotive services, and modern convenience stores designed to deliver a seamless and modern customer experience.

“This marks a significant milestone in Aramco’s downstream expansion as we enter the promising Pakistani market,” stated Yasser M. Mufti, Executive Vice President of Products & Customers at Aramco.

“Partnering with GO, which brings deep industry knowledge and a commitment to innovation, we are poised to offer exceptional value to our customers.” Mufti emphasized that Aramco’s values of excellence, innovation, and community partnership would drive its operations, aiming to offer reliable fuel supplies and world-class retail experiences to Pakistani consumers.

GO’s CEO Khalid Riaz echoed Mufti’s vision for the collaboration, describing the launch as a testament to both companies’ commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. “Together with Aramco, we aim to elevate the retail fuel landscape in Pakistan, setting new benchmarks for quality, service, and customer satisfaction,” Riaz stated.

This investment marks Aramco’s first venture into Pakistan’s retail market and is aligned with the Kingdom’s broader economic ties with Pakistan. Saudi Arabia is home to over 2.7 million Pakistani expatriates and has long been a key source of remittances for Pakistan. Furthermore, both nations have been increasing trade and investment cooperation, with Saudi Arabia recently reaffirming an investment package worth $5 billion for Pakistan.

With this partnership, Aramco and GO plan to expand their retail network across Pakistan, enhancing the country’s fuel retail sector through advanced services and high-quality fuel options, while further solidifying the economic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
