Special performances mark Pakistan Day in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Day was celebrated in a festive manner at Pakistan National Council of the Arts here in Islamabad.

The Chinese Cultural Troupe held the audience spellbound with stunning performance of Beijing Shanshui Orchestra to mark Pakistan Day and commemorate the 65th Anniversary of Pak-China Diplomatic Relations.

Beijing Orchestra is a classical orchestra based in Beijing, China, as one of its best-known performances that unfolds Chinese history and culture. The Chinese troupe started the show with “Jeevay Pakistan” and “Dil Dil Pakistan” and presented their own popular melody “Sound of Prosperity” and “Jasmine Flower”.

The show created a fascinating ambiance for audience of different ages, who got a rare opportunity to get the taste of Chinese remarkable performing art.

The event was organized by Pakistan National Council of Arts, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Embassy of China in connection with Pakistan Day celebrations.

The musical evening also included national songs and performance by local students. The event opened with a special dance performance by the National Performing Arts artists on Milli Naghma “Khayal Rakhna”.

Comparing by Iram Gillani was full of patriotic slogans beautiful sayings and information on Pakistan for the young enthusiasts. Renowned folk artists Fazal Jatt in colourful costume in his traditional style came for to present “Iqbal nu Safna Aya” followed by “Par langa de we” and other songs, popular singer Saira Naseem started her debut with Milli Song “Chalo ye Sochen” and also presented ghazals and geet of “Madam Noor Jehan” besides her best. Last singer of the evening Nadeem Abbas received great applause for his best presentation, “Ye watan tumara hae” “Bismillah Karan” “Sun Charkhe di mithi mithi kook” etc.

Dancers of the NPAG made the evening more colourful by presenting folk dances of all the federating units. Early in the evening people thronged to the artesian festival being part of the Pakistan Day Celebration at the National Art Gallery Lawn and took keen interest in the displayed art pieces. The festival will continue till March 25, 2016 from 3pm to 7pm.
