Pakistan to attract more investment under CPEC: Bajwa
Pakistan has attracted almost US$13 billion investment from China under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) while another US $12 billion investment was in the pipeline, said CPEC Authority Chairman Lt. Gen. (R) Asim Saleem Bajwa.
He shared this while talking to media during a visit to Challenge Textile Factory Lahore-Multan Road which was materialized with a Chinese investment of $150 million.
Bajwa said that more economic zones were being established under the CPEC which would bring more investment in Pakistan and provide facilities to the foreign investors.
He said the Chinese group had set up a factory of international standards and was also establishing a Fashion Export Park in Pakistan which would provide employment opportunities to thousands of people in in the country.
Special CPEC business visa approved
Pakistan’s federal cabinet has granted approval for a special visa to facilitate Chinese investors, businessmen and those working on CPEC projects.
The two years’ work visa would be granted to Chinese working on the CPEC projects within 48 hours, while their security clearance would be done in 30 days.
