Qatar offers Pakistanis 30-day on-arrival tourist visa: What to know

Qatar is offering Pakistani citizens a free tourist visa on arrival for stays of up to 30 days, allowing eligible travelers to visit the Gulf country without obtaining a visa in advance, according to Doha News.

According to Qatar’s Ministry of Interior (MOI), the facility is available to Pakistani nationals, with the permitted stay capped at 30 days or determined by the duration of their hotel reservation.

However, travelers must fulfil four requirements to qualify for the facility.

Four requirements for Pakistani travelers

Under the Qatari Ministry of Interior’s published conditions, Pakistani passport holders must:

  • Hold a passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival.
  • Have a confirmed round-trip air ticket.
  • Applicant should hold the amount of (5000 QR) or the equivalent of a valid credit card.
  • Duration of the visa will be 30 days and can be extended for a similar period. A return ticket should be confirmed before extension.
  • Those coming directly from Pakistan should receive a certificate of vaccination against polio.
  • Business visit is granted though only accredited companies

Tourist visas is issued through hotels and travel agencies accredited by Qatar Tourism Authority. It is valid for 30 days.

The requirements are listed on the ministry’s website under its free on-arrival tourist visa facility for Pakistanis. Travellers who fail to meet the conditions may not qualify for the visa on arrival.

Resumption of Qatar visa facility

The development comes after Qatar suspended its visa-on-arrival facility for Pakistani nationals effective March 31, 2026.

The suspension had required Pakistani travelers to obtain an appropriate visa before departure, with the Hayya platform serving as an alternative route for visa applications.

The latest Ministry of Interior listing now includes Pakistani nationals among those eligible for the free tourist visa on arrival, subject to the prescribed conditions.

Pakistani travelers planning to visit Qatar should check the latest entry requirements with the relevant authorities and arrange their accommodation and insurance before departure.
