Mandla Mandela, the grandson of Nobel Peace Prize winner and late South African president Nelson Mandela, arrived in Pakistan on Thursday.
Mandla is in Lahore to attend Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s ‘Tajdar-e-Khatam-e-Nabbuwat Conference’ on the invitation of Dr Tahirul Qadri, the head of the PAT.
It is Mandla Mandela’s first visit to Pakistan after embracing Islam in 2016.
In a brief interaction with media at the airport, the visiting dignitary said he was very glad to be in Pakistan.
“I am very happy to come here. I am not here for any political interests, my grandfather also loved Pakistan” Mandla Mandela said.
The junior Mandela maintained that he was proud to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi with the people of Pakistan.
He has arrived in Pakistan from his trip to Medina, Saudi Arabia.
