The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting on December 30. The project was first initiated in April 2017 by the PML-N government.
The coalition government has decided to engage international operators to help run three major airports of the country with an aim to attract direct foreign investment and provide world-class facilities to passengers.
The government would hire the services of reputed international operators for the three major airports for a period of 20 to 25 years. The prime minister instructed the authorities to ensure the process transparently and in accordance with the highest standards.
