Pakistani boxers go missing in UK after Commonwealth Games

The Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) on Wednesday confirmed that two national boxers went missing in Birmingham just a few days after the Commonwealth Games 2022 concluded.

The two boxers identified as Suleman Baloch and Nazeerullah, who were in the UK to participate in the CWG 2022, went missing a couple of hours before the team’s departure for Islamabad, told Secretary PBF Nasir Tang while talking to Dawn.com.

“We have seized the documents of the duo under the standard operating procedure,” he said, adding that the British government and the police have been informed about the disappearance of boxers.

According to the Secretary, the pugilists would be traced soon.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) has formed a four-member committee to investigate the matter.
