Pakistani scooter brand Road King partners with Chinese startup to introduce solar e-bikes

Road King, a leading electric scooter brand in Pakistan, and AGAO Solar Mobility, a China-based startup specializing in solar-powered scooters, reached a preliminary agreement to introduce eco-friendly solar e-bikes in Pakistan.

Solar scooters are equipped with solar panels that convert solar energy into electrical energy for storage, which is then used to drive the scooter’s electric motor. These scooters are ideal for short-distance travel and produce zero carbon emissions.

“The Chinese company expressed its willingness to provide Road King with technical support, product optimization, and marketing assistance for solar e-bikes,” APP reported on July 15, citing a meeting between executives of the two companies. “The goal is to jointly create high-quality transportation products that meet local market needs.”

A delegation from Road King confirmed their commitment to promoting cooperation with AGAO Solar Mobility and introducing solar e-bikes to the Pakistani market. They highlighted that the environmental friendliness and high-efficiency performance of solar e-bikes align perfectly with Pakistan’s current demand for green transportation.

Pakistan has set a target of generating 60% of its energy from clean and renewable sources by 2030. This goal is part of a broader strategy to transition toward sustainable energy, including significant efforts to develop solar and wind power. Additionally, Pakistan plans to have 30% of its vehicles running on electricity by 2030, in line with global environmental targets and efforts to reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

The joint venture between Road King and AGAO Solar Mobility aims to contribute to these national goals by providing innovative, zero-carbon-emission solutions for short-distance travel. Solar scooters, equipped with solar panels, harness solar energy to charge the scooter’s battery, thereby reducing the need for traditional charging methods.

According to the China Economic Net (CEN), both parties engaged in detailed discussions about the local transportation market demand in Pakistan, product development trends, and specific cooperation modalities. The discussions focused on how to best meet the needs of Pakistani consumers while promoting environmentally friendly transportation options.

The Chinese company has expressed strong support for the project, noting that this collaboration is dedicated to providing zero-carbon-emission solutions for short-distance travel. They emphasized that their innovative approach aligns with Pakistan’s broader goals for sustainable development and green transportation.
