Bisconni Middle East Manufacturing, part of Pakistan’s leading confectionery, biscuit, and snack food manufacturer Ismail Industries, has announced plans to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD).
The move, which comes in line with Bisconni’s goal to expand its international footprint, will see the company invest AED 110 million (approximately US$30 million) into the construction of a 37,000 square-meter facility.
The announcement follows the signing of a 50-year land lease agreement between KEZAD Group and Bisconni Middle East Manufacturing. The new plant, set to be located in KEZAD A (KEZAD Al Ma’mourah), will focus on the production of biscuits and confectionery products aimed at strengthening Bisconni’s reach within the UAE and broader Middle East market.
Bisconni’s strategic expansion
Mohamed Al Khadar Al Ahmed, CEO of KEZAD Group, expressed his enthusiasm for Bisconni’s move to KEZAD, emphasizing the role of such projects in further solidifying Abu Dhabi’s position as a strategic hub for the food and confectionery industry in the region.
“We are pleased to welcome Bisconni to KEZAD, reinforcing our commitment to providing world-class infrastructure and strategic opportunities for leading manufacturers,” Mohamed Al Khadar Al Ahmed said. “This partnership marks a significant milestone in strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a regional hub for the food and confectionery industry. With Bisconni’s expansion into KEZAD, we look forward to supporting their growth and innovation while contributing to the diversification of the UAE’s economy.”
In addition to its focus on innovation, Bisconni’s expansion plan aligns with the UAE’s broader objectives for food security and sustainability. KEZAD’s focus on enhancing the food processing sector makes it an ideal location for the establishment of Bisconni’s new factory, as it plays an instrumental role in advancing the emirate’s goals.

Maqsood Ismail, Managing Director of Bisconni Middle East Manufacturing, thanked the UAE authorities and KEZAD for their expeditious support in establishing the new manufacturing facility. “We are thankful to KEZAD, Abu Dhabi, and the UAE authorities for their cooperation, expeditious approval of our projects, and proactive support in setting up our business in Abu Dhabi. We look forward to an exciting chapter in our international expansion and growth.”
This new investment is part of a broader strategy that saw Bisconni’s shareholders approve the establishment of a subsidiary, Bisconni Middle East Manufacturing LLC, in Abu Dhabi in October 2024. This subsidiary is expected to focus on manufacturing chocolate, sugar confectionery, and dry bakery products.
Recognition for Bisconni’s Premium Biscuit Range
In a noteworthy achievement, Bisconni’s premium biscuit range was recently awarded the coveted ‘Home Brand of the Year Pakistan’ title at the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Asia Awards 2024 in Singapore. The prestigious award, organized by Retail Asia, recognized Bisconni’s exceptional innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction.
The premium biscuit range, which has captured the hearts of consumers, is an essential milestone in Bisconni’s growth. By offering products of the highest quality, comparable to international imports, Bisconni has disrupted the local market and cemented its relevance and appeal among biscuit lovers in Pakistan.
Bisconni’s ongoing international expansion is further supported by the UAE investment and the company’s plans to scale its business beyond Pakistan’s borders. This new factory in KEZAD will not only enhance Bisconni’s presence in the UAE and the broader GCC region but also create new jobs and contribute to the diversification of Abu Dhabi’s economy.
The strategic focus on innovation, quality, and expansion will undoubtedly pave the way for continued growth and success for Bisconni in the competitive international confectionery market.
