President Alvi get vaccinated, urge people to register for vaccine
Pakistan’s President Dr Arif Alvi and First Lady Samina Alvi received the first shot of a Chinese COVID-19 vaccine Sinopharm as the country began mass vaccination for the adult population on March 10.
The president and his wife received the vaccine against coronavirus at the vaccination center at Tarlai in Islamabad after receiving the intimation from the 1166 registration service where he had registered on February 15, he said.
The president said the elites across the world had been jumping the queue to get vaccinated but in Pakistan, the government had put in place an efficient mechanism to vaccinate the health workers first and then the vulnerable population.

He appreciated the smooth vaccination system at the center and said that the government had sufficient stock of the medicine available.
Despite vaccination, “we still have to take precautions … we have to ensure that we remain successful in countering COVID-19” he urged. He also warned of caution during the third COVID wave in Pakistan.
