International ride-hailing service inDrive has partnered with Vlektra, a Pakistani electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, to integrate electric bikes into its fleet in Pakistan.
“This marked a significant milestone in the nation’s transportation landscape, driving the country towards a sustainable future,” inDrive said in a statement.
The collaboration makes inDrive the first ride-hailing company to introduce EVs in Pakistan. The move aims at reducing carbon emissions and promoting environmental sustainability, according to a senior inDrive official.
“This collaboration between inDrive and Vlektra marks an exciting step forward in our commitment to sustainability and innovation in Pakistan,” said Roman Ermoshin, director of the APAC region at inDrive.
“This partnership signifies our concerted effort to introduce electric bikes, driving a significant shift towards a cleaner, more eco-conscious future in the region.”
Fatiq Bin Khursheed, the co-founder of Pakistan’s premium electric motorcycle manufacturer Vlektra said that the primary aim of the collaboration was to reduce carbon emissions and promote eco-friendly transport.
“Vlektra’s partnership with inDrive heralds a pioneering move in Pakistan’s ride-hailing landscape, introducing electric vehicles for sustainable mobility,” said Khursheed.
Promote EVs contest
InDrive has also launched an innovative contest aimed at advocating for electric vehicles (EVs) and environmental sustainability. The contest invites drivers to actively promote the advantages of EVs, with the best-performing drivers earning an opportunity to win free EV bikes.
The initiative not only encourages the adoption of sustainable practices but also rewards those actively contributing to the cause.
