Skills360 inaugural convocation: Over 100 Pakistani students certified, Top 20 graduates offered jobs

Over 100 Pakistani students received completion certificates, and 20 top-performing graduates secured immediate job placements through Skills360, Pakistan’s pioneering privately-owned edtech platform, at the inaugural convocation ceremony in Karachi.

As many as 100 students, hailing from diverse and underprivileged backgrounds, were awarded Skill Development Council (SDC) approved certificates in Graphic Designing and CMS Development, marking the successful completion of high-demand skill courses.

What sets this convocation apart is the groundbreaking approach of Skills360. The first batch of students was enrolled without any admission or course fees—an unprecedented move for a privately-owned edtech institution in Pakistan. This initiative reflects the platform’s commitment to making quality education accessible to all, especially those from marginalized communities.

The ceremony was a significant milestone, not just for Skills360, but also for the students who are now equipped with practical skills to kickstart their careers and contribute to Pakistan’s economy. The event was attended by senior representatives from Skills360, graduating students, their families, and faculty members.

A highlight of the convocation was the announcement that over 20 top-performing graduates had secured jobs immediately upon completing their courses. These opportunities were provided by ProByte Pvt. Ltd., a key technical support partner of Skills360, underscoring the tangible impact of the training programs offered by the platform.

In his welcome address, Kashif Shah, Executive Director of Skills360, set a tone of optimism and encouragement, celebrating both the achievements of the graduates and the brighter futures they now face.

Despite his absence, Dr. Shaukat Wasi, Director of Academics at Skills360, sent a message emphasizing the transformative power of such programs for young Pakistanis, particularly those who face financial barriers to higher education.

Co-founder of Skills360, Burhan Mirza, presented a progress report that detailed the platform’s journey from a passion project to a leading skill development institution in the country. Addressing the graduates, Mirza urged them to believe in the potential of their country and contribute to its growth rather than seeking opportunities abroad.

“This initiative is more than just education—it’s about empowering the leaders of tomorrow,” Mirza stated. “We want our students to have the skills they need to be financially independent and to elevate their families’ standard of living. By opening these gateways, we’re not just educating individuals; we’re investing in the future of our nation.”

He also highlighted Skills360’s dedication to diversity and inclusivity, noting that the institution welcomes students from all socioeconomic backgrounds. He encouraged graduates to use their new skills to create value for society, emphasizing that true success is measured by the positive impact they have on their communities.

Skills360’s first convocation stands as a beacon of hope and a testament to the power of accessible education in transforming lives and fostering national development.
