Turkish actress known as Halime Sultan in Pakistan has hinted at signing up with the PSL franchise
Dirilis Ertugrul has taken the Pakistani masses by a storm. The historic war drama dubbed as the “Muslim Game of Thrones”, has enthralled the locals after it started airing on the Pakistan Television (PTV), the state run TV channel. TRT Ertugrul by PTV channel on youtube has over 6.3 million subscribers within a couple of months.
The stars of the show including Engin Altan Düzyatan (Ertugrul) and Esra Bilgiç (Halime Sultan) have expressed their desire of visiting Pakistan to meet their fans once the coronavirus is over. We will be seeing more of the star, particularly Esra Bilgic more on our screen as in a recent interview she revealed that she has signed up for three endorsements with Pakistani brands. The name of the brands, however, were not made known.
“We will meet when all this is over when I will be working with Pakistani brands. I’m sharing, for the first time, that I’m about to work with three of Pakistan’s most loved brands. This will soon be announced by the press as well,” Bilgic said.
Javed Afridi, the owner of Peshawar Zalmi, had previously tweeted that how would the fans feel if Engin Altan Düzyatan became their brand ambassador. He later signaled that Bilgic may be joining the team.
Now the actress herself has joining the PSL franchise as a brand ambassador. Esra tweeted about sharing a good news, tagging Peshawar Zalmi and Javed Afridi.
Some fans sent out congratulatory tweets in anticipation of the development.
Some fans, however, felt that the ambassadors should be local.
Both PSL and Pakistan can benefit from the international press by signing foreign stars. While it should be made sure that there isn’t an overflow of overseas endorsements, a few smart ones can certainly be useful.
