ARY Digital Network, one of Pakistan’s most influential and widely viewed TV networks, has acquired a majority stake in the digital media platform Nukta.
The move forms part of ARY Group’s broader strategy to strengthen its position in the rapidly evolving digital media landscape.
The acquisition underscores ARY Group’s continued commitment to innovation in journalism, blending its decades-long dominance in broadcast media with the growing significance of digital storytelling and audience engagement.
Strengthening Multi-Platform Media Ecosystem
With this integration, Nukta will become part of ARY Group’s expanding media ecosystem, which already reaches millions of viewers across television, digital platforms, and international markets.
Salman Iqbal, Founder of ARY Digital Network and CEO of ARY Group, emphasized the strategic importance of the acquisition.
“The media landscape is changing rapidly, and ARY has always been at the forefront of that evolution. By bringing Nukta into the ARY ecosystem, we are strengthening our digital presence while building on ARY’s global broadcast leadership. We are confident this integrated platform will deliver powerful journalism and innovative storytelling for the digital age.”
Nukta to retain Dubai base while Expanding Reach
While continuing to operate from its Dubai headquarters, Nukta will now benefit from ARY Group’s international scale, credibility, and production capabilities. The integration is expected to help the platform broaden its audience base and enhance its content offerings.
Originally launched as Nukta Pakistan and Nukta Dubai, the platform features multiple verticals, including Nukta Business, Nukta Crime, and Nukta Life. These segments have already established strong digital audiences and are poised for further growth under ARY’s strategic direction, particularly across Pakistan and the wider South Asian region.
Kamran Khan takes Leadership Role
As part of the deal, Kamran Khan, founder of Nukta and a veteran journalist with more than four decades of experience in print and television, has been appointed Chairman of ARY News and Nukta.
Highlighting the potential of the partnership, Khan said: “This partnership creates an exciting opportunity to combine ARY’s unmatched broadcast reach with Nukta’s fast-growing digital platform. Together, we aim to build a modern media platform that delivers credible journalism, sharp analysis and compelling storytelling for audiences across Pakistan and the global South Asian community.”
As part of the integration, Nukta’s flagship program On My Radar (OMR), hosted by Kamran Khan, will soon be broadcast on ARY News. The move is expected to bring the show to a significantly larger television audience.
The acquisition marks another milestone in ARY Group’s evolution as a multi-platform media leader. By combining its strong television network with an expanding digital presence, the group aims to better serve audiences across Pakistan and beyond, while adapting to the shifting dynamics of modern media consumption.
