The supplies were handed over to the foundation by the country coordinator of TIKA
Frontier Foundation Welfare Hospital and Blood Transfusion Services received medical items donated by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency for the thalassemia patients. Gokhan Umut, the country coordinator for TIKA handed over the supplies to Sahibzada Muhammad Haleem, the chairman of the foundation.
Minister for law and human rights in KP Sultan Muhammad Khan, and Rabia Basri, chairperson of the provincial assembly standing committee on health, said the government had enacted effective legislation to bring reforms in the health sector and was bringing more reforms as both health and education were among its priorities.
Khan also expressed special thanks to the Turkish government and said there was a respectful relationship between Pakistan and Turkey. “Turkey has always stood by Pakistan on all important issues at the international level,” he said.
Pakistan and Turkey have always maintained cordial relations and have helped each other in times of need. During some of the recent disasters, Turkey has provided both financial and technical assistance to Pakistan. The countries are also currently engaged in a number of projects together.
