UK’s favorite Costa Coffee opens first store in Islamabad

Costa Coffee, the renowned global coffeehouse chain, announced the launch of its new store in Islamabad, bringing unparalleled coffee experience to the diverse and dynamic community

The new coffee shop, located in Jinnah Supermarket, Opposite Union Gold Mall, F-7 Markaz, Islamabad, will be open to the public on November 30.

This marks the coffee brand’s inaugural establishment in Islamabad and its third venture in Pakistan, following successful openings in Lahore and Karachi. The coffeehouse teamed up with Gerry’s Group to provide an unmatched coffee experience to the diverse and dynamic community of Islamabad.

British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott inaugurated the coffee shop in Islamabad. Afzal Wali Muhammad, Group Chairman of Gerry’s Group, a prominent player in Pakistan’s business landscape, joined Marriott at the inauguration. Wali Muhammad appreciated the brand’s commitment to fostering cultural exchanges and social connections through the love of coffee and great food.

“Costa Coffee has become synonymous with exceptional coffee moments globally, and we are delighted to bring this experience to the heart of Islamabad. This expansion aligns with our vision to elevate the coffee culture in Pakistan and create spaces where people can come together over a cup of their favorite brew and delectable treats”, Wali Muhammad said.

Wali Muhammad said that each store of Costa Coffee in Pakistan is more than just a coffee destination, it’s a space designed to inspire connections and celebrate the artistry behind the perfect cup of coffee.

Distinguished personalities graced the inauguration and soft launch ceremony, underscoring the significance of this milestone for both Costa Coffee and its patrons.

The event not only showcased the coffeehouse’s aromatic delights but also underscored the brand’s commitment to creating inviting spaces for patrons to enjoy their coffee in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

The new store

The new store mirrors Costa Coffee’s signature aesthetic, blending contemporary design with warmth to invite customers to linger and appreciate the artistry behind every cup.

Offering a diverse menu featuring various coffee blends, delectable treats, and refreshing beverages, the new store is poised to become a culinary and social hub in Islamabad. Costa Coffee — history and expansion

Costa Coffee was founded in 1971 in London by Italian brothers Sergio and Bruno who committed to crafting the finest quality coffee. The brothers opened their first Costa Coffee shop in 1981, becoming the first coffee provider in London to serve Espresso and crafted Cappuccino in porcelain cups.

Costa Coffee is currently present in 44 countries globally, operating around 2,800 coffee shops in the UK and Ireland and more than 1,100 in other international markets.  

With a rich coffee heritage spanning over 50 years, Costa Coffee has been continually ranked as the United Kingdom’s favorite coffee shop, maintaining this accolade for the 12th consecutive year, according to a survey of over 4,000 British consumers.
